The Boy Of The Alps Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCCBAADEEDAADCCFCC F GGHIID CCH

Lightly Alpine roverA
Tread the mountains overA
Rude is the path thou'st yet to goB
Snow cliffs hanging o'er theeC
Fields of ice before theeC
While the hid torrent moans belowB
Hark the deep thunderA
Thro' the vales yonderA
'Tis the huge avalanche downward castD
From rock to rockE
Rebounds the shockE
But courage boy the danger's pastD
Onward youthful roverA
Tread the glacier overA
Safe shalt thou reach thy home at lastD
On ere light forsake theeC
Soon will dusk o'ertake theeC
O'er yon ice bridge lies thy wayF
Now for the risk prepare theeC
Safe it yet may bear theeC
Tho' 'twill melt in morning's rayF
-
Hark that dread howlingG
'Tis the wolf prowlingG
Scent of thy track the foe hath gotH
And cliff and shoreI
Resound his roarI
But courage boy the danger's pastD
-
Watching eyes have found theeC
Loving arms are round theeC
Safe hast thou reached thy father's cotH
