Take Back The Virgin Page Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCBCDEDE AFAFDGDG HIHIJKJK LMLMDNDN

Written on Returning a Blank BookA
-
-
Take back the virgin pageB
White and unwritten stillC
Some hand more calm and sageB
The leaf must fillC
Thoughts come as pure as lightD
Pure as even you requireE
But oh each word I writeD
Love turns to fireE
-
Yet let me keep the bookA
Oft shall my heart renewF
When on its leaves I lookA
Dear thoughts of youF
Like you 'tis fair and brightD
Like you too bright and fairG
To let wild passion writeD
One wrong wish thereG
-
Haply when from those eyesH
Far far away I roamI
Should calmer thoughts ariseH
Towards you and homeI
Fancy may trace some lineJ
Worthy those eyes to meetK
Thoughts that not burn but shineJ
Pure calm and sweetK
-
And as o'er ocean farL
Seamen their records keepM
Led by some hidden starL
Through the cold deepM
So may the words I writeD
Tell through what storms I strayN
You still the unseen lightD
Guiding my wayN
