St SenanusA
-
On haste and leave this sacred isleB
Unholy bark ere morning smileB
For on thy deck though dark it beC
A female form I seeC
And I have sworn this sainted sodD
Shall ne'er by woman's feet by trodD
-
-
The LadyC
-
Oh Father send not hence my barkE
Through wintry winds and billows darkE
I come with humble heart to shareF
Thy morn and evening prayerF
Nor mine the feet oh holy SaintG
The brightness of thy sod to taintG
-
-
The lady's prayer Senanus spurn'dH
The winds blew fresh the bark return'dH
But legends hint that had the maidI
Till morning's light delay'dI
And given the saint one rosy smileB
She ne'er had left his lonely isleB
