Spring And Autumn. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGDGD HIHIADAD

Every season hath its pleasuresA
Spring may boast her flowery primeB
Yet the vineyard's ruby treasuresA
Brighten Autumn's soberer timeB
So Life's year begins and closesC
Days tho' shortening still can shineD
What tho' youth gave love and rosesC
Age still leaves us friends and wineD
-
Phillis when she might have caught meE
All the Spring looked coy and shyF
Yet herself in Autumn sought meE
When the flowers were all gone byF
Ah too late she found her loverG
Calm and free beneath his vineD
Drinking to the Spring time overG
In his best autumnal wineD
-
Thus may we as years are flyingH
To their flight our pleasures suitI
Nor regret the blossoms dyingH
While we still may taste the fruitI
Oh while days like this are oursA
Where's the lip that dares repineD
Spring may take our loves and flowersA
So Autumn leaves us friends and wineD
