A
-
-
I've been oh sweet daughterB
To fountain and seaC
To seek in their waterB
Some bright gem for theeC
Where diamonds were sleepingD
Their sparkle I soughtE
Where crystal was weepingD
Its tears I have caughtF
-
The sea nymph I've courtedG
In rich coral hallsH
With Naiads have sportedG
By bright waterfallsH
But sportive or tenderB
Still sought I aroundI
That gem with whose splendorB
Thou yet shalt be crownedI
-
And see while I'm speakingD
Yon soft light afarJ
The pearl I've been seekingD
There floats like a starJ
In the deep Indian OceanK
I see the gem shineL
And quick as light's motionK
Its wealth shall be thineL
-
Then eastward like lightningD
The hero god flewM
His sunny looks brighteningD
The air he went thro'J
And sweet was the dutyC
And hallowed the hourJ
Which saw thus young BeautyC
Embellished by PowerJ
