She Is Far From The Land Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CBCB DEDE FGFG

She is far from the land where her young hero sleepsA
And lovers are round her sighingB
But coldly she turns from their gaze and weepsA
For her heart in his grave is lyingB
-
She sings the wild song of her dear native plainsC
Every note which he loved awakingB
Ah little they think who delight in her strainsC
How the heart of the Minstrel is breakingB
-
He had lived for his love for his country he diedD
They were all that to life had entwined himE
Nor soon shall the tears of his country be driedD
Nor long will his Love stay behind himE
-
Oh make her a grave where the sunbeams restF
When they promise a glorious morrowG
They'll shine o'er her sleep like a smile from the WestF
From her own loved island of sorrowG
