Rich And Rare Were The Gems She Wore Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EEAA FFGG

Rich and rare were the gems she woreA
And a bright gold ring on her wand she boreA
But oh her beauty was far beyondB
Her sparkling gems or snow white wandB
-
Lady dost thou not fear to strayC
So lone and lovely through this bleak wayC
Are Erin's sons so good or so coldD
As not to be tempted by woman or goldD
-
Sir Knight I feel not the least alarmE
No son of Erin will offer me harmE
For though they love woman and golden storeA
Sir Knight they love honour and virtue moreA
-
On she went and her maiden smileF
In safety lighted her round the green isleF
And blest for ever is she who reliedG
Upon Erin's honour and Erin's prideG
