Peace Be Around Thee. (scotch Air.) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAAABCBC DEDFGHIJ

Peace be around thee wherever thou rov'stA
May life be for thee one summer's dayA
And all that thou wishest and all that thou lov'stA
Come smiling around thy sunny wayA
If sorrow e'er this calm should breakB
May even thy tears pass off so lightlyC
Like spring showers they'll only makeB
The smiles that follow shine more brightlyC
-
May Time who sheds his blight o'er allD
And daily dooms some joy to deathE
O'er thee let years so gently fallD
They shall not crush one flower beneathF
As half in shade and half in sunG
This world along its path advancesH
May that side the sun's uponI
Be all that e'er shall meet thy glancesJ
