Oh, Days Of Youth. (french Air.) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD CECECDCD

Oh days of youth and joy long cloudedA
Why thus for ever haunt my viewB
When in the grave your light lay shroudedA
Why did not Memory die there tooB
Vainly doth hope her strain now sing meC
Telling of joys that yet remainD
No never more can this life bring meC
One joy that equals youth's sweet painD
-
Dim lies the way to death before meC
Cold winds of Time blow round my browE
Sunshine of youth that once fell o'er meC
Where is your warmth your glory nowE
'Tis not that then no pain could sting meC
'Tis not that now no joys remainD
Oh 'tis that life no more can bring meC
One joy so sweet as that worst painD
