Odes Of Anacreon - Ode Xlviii Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDCCEEFFGGHHEE ID

When my thirsty soul I steepA
Every sorrow's lulled to sleepA
Talk of monarchs I am thenB
Richest happiest first of menB
Careless o'er my cup I singC
Fancy makes me more than kingC
Gives me wealthy Croesus' storeD
Can I can I wish for moreD
On my velvet couch recliningC
Ivy leaves my brow entwiningC
While my soul expands with gleeE
What are kings and crowns to meE
If before my feet they layF
I would spurn them all awayF
Arm ye arm ye men of mightG
Hasten to the sanguine fightG
But let me my budding vineH
Spill no other blood than thineH
Yonder brimming goblet seeE
That alone shall vanquish meE
Who think it better wiser farI
To fall in banquet than in warD
