Count me on the summer treesB
Every leaf that courts the breezeB
Count me on the foamy deepC
Every wave that sinks to sleepC
Then when you have numbered theseB
Billowy tides and leafy treesB
Count me all the flames I proveD
All the gentle nymphs I loveE
First of pure Athenian maidsF
Sporting in their olive shadesF
You may reckon just a scoreG
Nay I'll grant you fifteen moreG
In the famed Corinthian groveH
Where such countless wantons roveH
Chains of beauties may be foundI
Chains by which my heart is boundI
There indeed are nymphs divineJ
Dangerous to a soul like mineJ
Many bloom in Lesbos' isleK
Many in Ionia smileK
Rhodes a pretty swarm can boastL
Caria too contains a hostL
Sum them all of brown and fairM
You may count two thousand thereM
What you stare I pray you peaceN
More I'll find before I ceaseN
Have I told you all my flamesO
'Mong the amorous Syrian damesO
Have I numbered every oneP
Glowing under Egypt's sunP
Or the nymphs who blushing sweetQ
Deck the shrine of Love in CreteQ
Where the God with festal playR
Holds eternal holidayR
Still in clusters still remainS
Gades' warm desiring trainS
Still there lies a myriad moreG
On the sable India's shoreG
These and many far removedT
All are loving all are lovedU
