I saw the smiling bard of pleasureB
The minstrel of the Teian measureB
'Twas in a vision of the nightC
He beamed upon my wondering sightC
I heard his voice and warmly prestD
The dear enthusiast to my breastD
His tresses wore a silvery dyeE
But beauty sparkled in his eyeE
Sparkled in his eyes of fireB
Through the mist of soft desireB
His lip exhaled when'er he sighedF
The fragrance of the racy tideF
And as with weak and reeling feetG
He came my cordial kiss to meetG
An infant of the Cyprian bandH
Guided him on with tender handH
Quick from his glowing brows he drewI
His braid of many a wanton hueI
I took the wreath whose inmost twineJ
Breathed of him and blushed with wineJ
I hung it o'er my thoughtless browK
And ah I feel its magic nowK
I feel that even his garland's touchL
Can make the bosom love too muchL
