Love Is A Hunter-boy. (languedocian Air.) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGDGD

Love is a hunter boyA
Who makes young hearts his preyB
And in his nets of joyA
Ensnares them night and dayB
In vain concealed they lieC
Love tracks them every whereD
In vain aloft they flyC
Love shoots them flying thereD
-
But 'tis his joy most sweetE
At early dawn to traceF
The print of Beauty's feetE
And give the trembler chaseF
And if thro' virgin snowG
He tracks her footsteps fairD
How sweet for Love to knowG
None went before him thereD
