Let's Take This World As Some Wide Scene. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFGFHDH DIJIJKLKL

Let's take this world as some wide sceneA
Thro' which in frail but buoyant boatB
With skies now dark and now sereneA
Together thou and I must floatB
Beholding oft on either shoreC
Bright spots where we should love to stayD
But Time plies swift his flying oarC
And away we speed away awayD
-
Should chilling winds and rains come onE
We'll raise our awning 'gainst the showerF
Sit closer till the storm is goneG
And smiling wait a sunnier hourF
And if that sunnier hour should shineH
We'll know its brightness cannot stayD
But happy while 'tis thine and mineH
-
Complain not when it fades awayD
So shall we reach at last that FallI
Down which life's currents all must goJ
The dark the brilliant destined allI
To sink into the void belowJ
Nor even that hour shall want its charmsK
If side by side still fond we keepL
And calmly in each other's armsK
Together linked go down the steepL
