I Saw Thy Form In Youthful Prime Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEDC FGFCHIHC JKJCLCLC

I saw thy form in youthful primeA
Nor thought that pale decayB
Would steal before the steps of TimeA
And waste its bloom away MaryC
Yet still thy features wore that lightD
Which fleets not with the breathE
And life ne'er look'd more truly brightD
Than in thy smile of death MaryC
-
As streams that run o'er golden minesF
Yet humbly calmly glideG
Nor seem to know the wealth that shinesF
Within their gentle tide MaryC
So veil'd beneath the simplest guiseH
Thy radiant genius shoneI
And that which charm'd all other eyesH
Seem'd worthless in thy own MaryC
-
If souls could always dwell aboveJ
Thou ne'er hadst left that sphereK
Or could we keep the souls we loveJ
We ne'er had lost thee here MaryC
Though many a gifted mind we meetL
Though fairest forms we seeC
To live with them is far less sweetL
Than to remember thee MaryC
