How Shall I Woo? Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEE FBFBGHIHEE JDJDKBKBEE

If I speak to thee in friendship's nameA
Thou think'st I speak too coldlyB
If I mention Love's devoted flameA
Thou say'st I speak too boldlyB
Between these two unequal firesC
Why doom me thus to hoverD
I'm a friend if such thy heart requiresC
If more thou seek'st a loverD
Which shall it be How shall I wooE
Fair one choose between the twoE
-
Tho' the wings of Love will brightly playF
When first he comes to woo theeB
There's a chance that he may fly awayF
As fast as he flies to theeB
While Friendship tho' on foot she comeG
No flights of fancy tryingH
Will therefore oft be found at homeI
When Love abroad is flyingH
Which shall it be How shall I wooE
Dear one choose between the twoE
-
If neither feeling suits thy heartJ
Let's see to please thee whetherD
We may not learn some precious artJ
To mix their charms togetherD
One feeling still more sweet to formK
From two so sweet alreadyB
A friendship that like love is warmK
A love like friendship steadyB
Thus let it be thus let me wooE
Dearest thus we'll join the twoE
