Here At Thy Tomb. By Meleager Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH

Here at thy tomb these tears I shedA
Tears which though vainly now they rollB
Are all love hath to give the deadA
And wept o'er thee with all love's soulB
-
Wept in remembrance of that lightC
Which naught on earth without thee givesD
Hope of my heart now quenched in nightC
But dearer dead than aught that livesD
-
Where is she where the blooming boughE
That once my life's sole lustre madeF
Torn off by death 'tis withering nowE
And all its flowers in dust are laidF
-
Oh earth that to thy matron breastG
Hast taken all those angel charmsH
Gently I pray thee let her restG
Gently as in a mother's armsH
