Hark! 'tis The Breeze. (air.--rousseau.) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACADAD EFEFGHGH

Hark 'tis the breeze of twilight callingA
Earth's weary children to reposeB
While round the couch of Nature fallingA
Gently the night's soft curtains closeC
Soon o'er a world in sleep recliningA
Numberless stars thro' yonder darkD
Shall look like eyes of Cherubs shiningA
From out the veils that hid the ArkD
-
Guard us oh Thou who never sleepestE
Thou who in silence throned aboveF
Throughout all time unwearied keepestE
Thy watch of Glory Power and LoveF
Grant that beneath thine eye securelyG
Our souls awhile from life withdrawnH
May in their darkness stilly purelyG
Like sealed fountains rest till dawnH
