Gayly Sounds The Castanet. (maltese Air.) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAAABCDC AAAAEFEF GEGEHIHI

Gayly sounds the castanetA
Beating time to bounding feetA
When after daylight's golden setA
Maids and youths by moonlight meetA
Oh then how sweet to moveB
Thro' all that maze of mirthC
Led by light from eyes we loveD
Beyond all eyes on earthC
-
Then the joyous banquet spreadA
On the cool and fragrant groundA
With heaven's bright sparklers overheadA
And still brighter sparkling roundA
Oh then how sweet to sayE
Into some loved one's earF
Thoughts reserved thro' many a dayE
To be thus whispered hereF
-
When the dance and feast are doneG
Arm in arm as home we strayE
How sweet to see the dawning sunG
O'er her cheek's warm blushes playE
Then too the farewell kissH
The words whose parting toneI
Lingers still in dreams of blissH
That haunt young hearts aloneI
