Fly Not Yet Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCDDEEFGGC DDHHIJJEEFKKL

Fly not yet 'tis just the hourA
When pleasure like the midnight flowerA
That scorns the eye of vulgar lightB
Begins to bloom for sons of nightB
And maids who love the moonC
'Twas but to bless these hours of shadeD
That beauty and the moon were madeD
'Tis then their soft attractions glowingE
Set the tides and goblets flowingE
Oh stay Oh stayF
Joy so seldom weaves a chainG
Like this to night that oh 'tis painG
To break its links so soonC
-
Fly not yet the fount that play'dD
In times of old through Ammon's shadeD
Though icy cold by day it ranH
Yet still like souls of mirth beganH
To burn when night was nearI
And thus should woman's heart and looksJ
At noon be cold as winter brooksJ
Nor kindle till the night returningE
Brings their genial hour for burningE
Oh stay Oh stayF
When did morning ever breakK
And find such beaming eyes awakeK
As those that sparkle hereL
