WednesdayA
-
Thro' Manchester Square took a canter just nowB
Met the old yellow chariot and made a low bowB
This I did of course thinking 'twas loyal and civilC
But got such a look oh 'twas black as the devilC
How unlucky incog he was travelling aboutD
And I like a noodle must go find him outD
Mem when next by the old yellow chariot I rideE
To remember there is nothing princely insideE
-
ThursdayF
-
At Levee to day made another sad blunderG
What can be come over me lately I wonderG
The Prince was as cheerful as if all his lifeH
He had never been troubled with Friends or a WifeH
Fine weather says he to which I who must prateF
Answered Yes Sir but changeable rather of lateF
He took it I fear for he lookt somewhat gruffI
And handled his new pair of whiskers so roughI
That before all the courtiers I feared they'd come offJ
And then Lord how Geramb would triumphantly scoffJ
-
Mem to buy for son Dicky some unguent or lotionK
To nourish his whiskers sure road to promotionK
-
SaturdayF
-
Last night a Concert vastly gayF
Given by Lady CastlereaghJ
My Lord loves music and we knowL
Has two strings always to his bowB
In choosing songs the Regent namedF
Had I a heart for falsehood framedF
While gentle Hertford begged and prayedF
For Young I am and sore afraidF
