Ballad Stanzas Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEDE FGFG HIHI

I knew by the smoke that so gracefully curledA
Above the green elms that a cottage was nearB
And I said If there's peace to be found in the worldA
A heart that was humble might hope for it hereC
It was noon and on flowers that languished aroundD
In silence reposed the voluptuous beeE
Every leaf was at rest and I heard not a soundD
But the woodpecker tapping the hollow beech treeE
-
And Here in this lone little wood I exclaimedF
With a maid who was lovely to soul and to eyeG
Who would blush when I praised her and weep if I blamedF
How blest could I live and how calm could I dieG
-
By the shade of yon sumach whose red berry dipsH
In the gush of the fountain how sweet to reclineI
And to know that I sighed upon innocent lipsH
Which had never been sighed on by any but mineI
