Come with me and we will blowA
Lots of bubbles as we goA
Bubbles bright as ever HopeB
Drew from fancy or from soapB
Bright as e'er the South Sea sentC
from its frothy elementD
Come with me and we will blowA
Lots of bubbles as we goA
Mix the lather Johnny W lksE
Thou who rhym'st so well to bilksE
Mix the lather who can beF
Fitter for such task than theeF
Great M P for SudsburyG
-
For the frothy charm is ripeH
Puffing Peter bring thy pipeH
Thou whom ancient CoventryG
Once so dearly lov'd that sheG
Knew not which to her was sweeterG
Peeping Tom or Puffing PeterG
Puff the bubbles high in airG
Puff thy best to keep them thereG
-
Bravo bravo Peter M reG
Now the rainbow humbugs soarG
Glitt'ring all with golden huesE
Such as haunt the dreams of JewsE
Some reflecting mines that lieI
Under Chili's glowing skyI
Some those virgin pearls that sleepJ
Cloister'd in the southern deepJ
Others as if lent a rayG
Form the streaming Milky WayG
Glist'ning o'er with curds and wheyG
From the cows of AlderneyK
-
Now's the moment who shall firstL
Catch the buble ere they burstL
Run ye Squires ye Viscounts runK
Br gd n T ynh m P lm t nK
John W lks junior runs beside yeG
Take the good the knaves provide yeG
See with upturn'd eyes and handsE
Where the Shareman Bri gd n standsE
Gaping for the froth to fallM
Down his gullet lye and allM
See But hark my time is outN
Now like some great water spoutN
Scaterr'd by the cannon's thunderG
Burst ye bubbles burst asunderG
