All In A Family Way Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEGHDHD CICIJDJD KLMNEDED OPOPODOD EDEDEDQD

My banks are all furnished with ragsA
So thick even Freddy can't thin 'emB
I've torn up my old money bagsA
Having little or nought to put in 'emB
My tradesman are smashing by dozensC
But this is all nothing they sayD
For bankrupts since Adam are cousinsC
So it's all in the family wayD
-
-
My Debt not a penny takes from meE
As sages the matter explainF
Bob owes it to Tom and then TommyE
Just owes it to Bob back againG
Since all have thus taken to owingH
There's nobody left that can payD
And this is the way to keep goingH
All quite in the family wayD
-
-
My senators vote away millionsC
To put in Prosperity's budgetI
And though it were billions or trillionsC
The generous rogues wouldn't grudge itI
'Tis all but a family hopJ
'Twas Pitt began dancing the hayD
Hands round why the deuce should we stopJ
'Tis all in the family wayD
-
-
My labourers used to eat muttonK
As any great man of the State doesL
And now the poor devils are put onM
Small rations of tea and potatoesN
But cheer up John Sawney and PaddyE
The King is your father they sayD
So ev'n if you starve for your DaddyE
'Tis all in the family wayD
-
-
My rich manufacturers tumbleO
My poor ones have nothing to chewP
And even if themselves do not grumbleO
Their stomachs undoubtedly doP
But coolly to fast en familleO
Is as good for the soul as to prayD
And famine itself is genteelO
When one starves in a family wayD
-
-
I have found out a secret for FreddyE
A secret for next Budget dayD
Though perhaps he may know it alreadyE
As he too 's a sage in his wayD
When next for the Treasury scene heE
Announces the Devil to payD
Let him write on the bills Nota beneQ
'Tis all in the family wayD
