Thoughts Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABABABCDCDCDEESweet are the thoughts that haunt the poet s brain | A |
Like rainbow fringed clouds through which some star | B |
Peeps in bright glory on a shepherd swain | A |
They sweep along and trance him sweeter far | B |
Than incense trailing up an out stretched chain | A |
From rocking censer sweeter too they are | B |
Than the thin mist which rises in the gale | C |
From out the slender cowslip s bee scarred breast | D |
Their delicate pinions buoy up a tale | C |
Like brittle wings which curtain in the vest | D |
Of cobweb limbed ephemera that sail | C |
In gauzy mantle of dun twilight dressed | D |
Borne on the wind s soft sighings when the spring | E |
Listens all evening to its whispering | E |
