Why Did I Sketch Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCABC DEFDEF GHIGHI J

Why did I sketch an upland greenA
And put the figure inB
Of one on the spot with meC
For now that one has ceased to be seenA
The picture waxes akinB
To a wordless ironyC
-
If you go drawing on down or cliffD
Let no soft curves intrudeE
Of a woman's silhouetteF
But show the escarpments stark and stiffD
As in utter solitudeE
So shall you half forgetF
-
Let me sooner pass from sight of the skyG
Than again on a thoughtless dayH
Limn laugh and sing and rhymeI
With a woman sitting near whom IG
Paint in for love and who mayH
Be called hence in my timeI
-
From an old noteJ
