To A Lady (offended By A Book Of The Writer's) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA ACCA DEFDDG

Now that my page upcloses doomed maybeA
Never to press thy cosy cushions moreB
Or wake thy ready Yeas as heretoforeB
Or stir thy gentle vows of faith in meA
-
Knowing thy natural receptivityA
I figure that as flambeaux banish eveC
My sombre image warped by insidious heaveC
Of those less forthright must lose place in theeA
-
So be it I have borne such Let thy dreamsD
Of me and mine diminish day by dayE
And yield their space to shine of smugger thingsF
Till I shape to thee but in fitful gleamsD
And then in far and feeble visitingsD
And then surcease Truth will be truth alwayG
