The Passer-by Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCBDC DEDEE FGFGG HIHII

L H Recalls Her RomanceA
-
-
He used to pass well trimmed and brushedB
My window every dayC
And when I smiled on him he blushedB
That youth quite as a girl might ayeD
In the shyest wayC
-
Thus often did he pass herebyD
That youth of bounding gaitE
Until the one who blushed was ID
And he became as here I sateE
My joy my fateE
-
And now he passes by no moreF
That youth I loved too trueG
I grieve should he as here of yoreF
Pass elsewhere seated in his viewG
Some maiden newG
-
If such should be alas for herH
He'll make her feel him dearI
Become her daily comforterH
Then tire him of her beauteous gearI
And disappearI
