The Minute Before Meeting Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEFFE

The grey gaunt days dividing us in twainA
Seemed hopeless hills my strength must faint to climbB
But they are gone and now I would detainA
The few clock beats that part us rein back TimeB
-
And live in close expectance never closedC
In change for far expectance closed at lastD
So harshly has expectance been imposedC
On my long need while these slow blank months passedD
-
And knowing that what is now about to beE
Will all HAVE BEEN in O so short a spaceF
I read beyond it my despondencyE
When more dividing months shall take its placeF
Thereby denying to this hour of graceF
A full up measure of felicityE
