Rain On A Grave Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCBAACB ADBDAEEBE AAAAAAAAA FGFGHHAAG B

Clouds spout upon herA
Their waters amainB
In ruthless disdainB
Her who but latelyC
Had shivered with painB
As at touch of dishonourA
If there had lit on herA
So coldly so straightlyC
Such arrows of rainB
-
She who to shelterA
Her delicate headD
Would quicken and quickenB
Each tentative treadD
If drops chanced to pelt herA
That summertime spillsE
In dust paven rillsE
When thunder clouds thickenB
And birds close their billsE
-
Would that I lay thereA
And she were housed hereA
Or better togetherA
Were folded away thereA
Exposed to one weatherA
We both who would stray thereA
When sunny the day thereA
Or evening was clearA
At the prime of the yearA
-
Soon will be growingF
Green blades from her moundG
And daises be showingF
Like stars on the groundG
Till she form part of themH
Ay the sweet heart of themH
Loved beyond measureA
With a child's pleasureA
All her life's roundG
-
