Paying Calls Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDED FGHG IJKJ

I went by footpath and by stileA
Beyond where bustle endsB
Strayed here a mile and there a mileA
And called upon some friendsB
-
On certain ones I had not seenC
For years past did I callD
And then on others who had beenE
The oldest friends of allD
-
It was the time of midsummerF
When they had used to roamG
But now though tempting was the airH
I found them all at homeG
-
I spoke to one and other of themI
By mound and stone and treeJ
Of things we had done ere days were dimK
But they spoke not to meJ
