Middle-age Enthusiasms Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCBCDD EFGFHH IJIJKL MNMOPP

To M HA
-
WE passed where flag and flowerB
Signalled a jocund throngC
We said Go to the hourB
Is apt and joined the songC
And kindling laughed at life and careD
Although we knew no laugh lay thereD
-
We walked where shy birds stoodE
Watching us wonder dumbF
Their friendship met our moodG
We cried We'll often comeF
We'll come morn noon eve everywhenH
We doubted we should come againH
-
We joyed to see strange sheensI
Leap from quaint leaves in shadeJ
A secret light of greensI
They'd for their pleasure madeJ
We said We'll set such sorts as theseK
We knew with night the wish would ceaseL
-
So sweet the place we saidM
Its tacit tales so dearN
Our thoughts when breath has spedM
Will meet and mingle hereO
Words mused we Passed the mortal doorP
Our thoughts will reach this nook no moreP
