Life Laughs Onward Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF AGAG

Rambling I looked for an old abodeA
Where years back one had lived I knewB
Its site a dwelling duly showedA
But it was newB
-
I went where not so long agoC
The sod had riven two breasts asunderD
Daisies throve gaily there as thoughC
No grave were underD
-
I walked along a terrace whereE
Loud children gambolled in the sunF
The figure that had once sat thereE
Was missed by noneF
-
Life laughed and moved on unsubduedA
I saw that Old succumbed to YoungG
'Twas well My too regretful moodA
Died on my tongueG
