I Looked Up From My Writing Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH AIAI BJBJ

I looked up from my writingA
And gave a start to seeB
As if rapt in my inditingA
The moon's full gaze on meB
-
Her meditative misty headC
Was spectral in its airD
And I involuntarily saidC
What are you doing thereD
-
Oh I've been scanning pond and holeE
And waterway hereaboutF
For the body of one with a sunken soulE
Who has put his life light outF
-
Did you hear his frenzied tattleG
It was sorrow for his sonH
Who is slain in brutish battleG
Though he has injured noneH
-
And now I am curious to lookA
Into the blinkered mindI
Of one who wants to write a bookA
In a world of such a kindI
-
Her temper overwrought meB
And I edged to shun her viewJ
For I felt assured she thought meB
One who should drown him tooJ
