At A Country Fair Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCAA DEEDD FGGFF HIIHH

At a bygone Western country fairA
I saw a giant led by a dwarfB
With a red string like a long thin scarfC
How much he was the stronger thereA
The giant seemed unawareA
-
And then I saw that the giant was blindD
And the dwarf a shrewd eyed little thingE
The giant mild timid obeyed the stringE
As if he had no independent mindD
Or will of any kindD
-
Wherever the dwarf decided to goF
At his heels the other trotted meeklyG
Perhaps I know not reproaching weaklyG
Like one Fate bade that it must be soF
Whether he wished or noF
-
Various sights in various climesH
I have seen and more I may see yetI
But that sight never shall I forgetI
And have thought it the sorriest of pantomimesH
If once a hundred timesH
