To'' Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABC DDEE FFDD GGHH IIJJ DDKK

In vain sweet Maid for me you bringA
The first blown blossoms of the springA
My tearful cheek you wipe in vainB
And bid its pale rose bloom againC
-
In vain unconscious did I sayD
Oh you alone these tears can stayD
Alone the pale rose can renewE
Whose sunshine is a smile from youE
-
Yet not in friendship's smile it livesF
Too cold the gifts that friendship givesF
The beam that warms a winter's dayD
Plays coldly in the lap of MayD
-
You bid my sad heart cease to swellG
But will you if its tale I tellG
Nor turn away nor frown the whileH
But smile as you were wont to smileH
-
Then bring me not the blossoms youngI
That erst on Flora's forehead hungI
But round thy radiant temples twineJ
The flowers whose flaunting mocks at mineJ
-
Give me nor pinks nor pansies gayD
Nor violets fading fast awayD
Nor myrtle rue nor rosemaryK
But give oh give thyself to meK
