To Charity Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCADEEDFGGFHH

O best beloved of Heaven on earth bestow'dA
To raise the pilgrim sunk with ghastly fearsB
To cool his burning wounds to wipe his tearsC
And strew with amaranths his thorny roadA
Alas how long has Superstition hurl'dD
Thine altars down thine attributes reviledE
The hearts of men with witchcrafts foul beguiledE
And spread his empire o'er the vassal worldD
But truth returns she spreads resistless dayF
And mark the monster's cloud wrapt fabric fallsG
He shrinks he trembles 'mid his inmost hallsG
And all his damn'd illusions melt awayF
The charm dissolved immortal fair and freeH
Thy holy fanes shall rise celestial CharityH
