The Morning Call. To The Honourable Lady--------. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGI J

I dare not look at those dear eyesA
The sun was never half so brightB
There surely more of rapture liesA
Than ever bless'd a mortal's sightB
-
In thy sweet face I see impress'dC
Ten thousand thousand charms divineD
The sunbeams of thy guileless breastC
Like Heaven's eternal mercies shineD
-
Angel of love life's endless joyE
Our hope at morn our evening prayerF
The bliss above would have alloyE
Unless dear thou wert thereF
-
Oh Woman what a charm hast thouG
Our rebel nature thus to tameH
We ever must adore and bowG
While virtue guards thy holy faneI
-
WerthingJ
