Sonnet On The Death Of Toussaint L'ouverture Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDECECFF

His weary warfare done his woes forgotA
Freedom thy son oppress'd so long is freeB
He seeks the realms where tyranny is notA
And those shall hail him who have died for theeB
Immortal TELL receive a soul like thineC
Who scorn'd obedience to usurp'd commandD
Who rose a giant from a sphere indignC
To tear the rod from proud oppression's handD
Alas no victor wreaths enzon'd his browE
But freedom long his hapless fate shall mournC
Her holy tears shall nurse the laurel boughE
Whose green leaves grace his consecrated urnC
Nursed by these tears that bough shall rise sublimeF
And bloom triumphant 'mid the wrecks of timeF
