A Sketch From Life Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPDGQL HD

She sat in beauty like some form of nymphA
Or naiad on the mossy purpled bankB
Of her wild woodland stream that at her feetC
Linger'd and play'd and dimpled as in loveD
Or like those shapes that on the western cloudsE
Spread gold dropp'd plumes and sing to harps of pearlF
And teach the evening winds their melodyG
How shall I tell her beauty for the eyeH
Fix'd on the sun is blinded by its beamI
One glance and then no more upon that browJ
Brighter than marble shining through those curlsK
Richer than hyacinths when they wave their bellsL
In the low breathing of the twilight windM
One glance upon that lip beside whose hueN
The morning rose would sicken and grow paleO
'Till it was waked again by the soft breathP
That steals in music from those lips of loveD
Wert thou a statue I could pine for theeG
But in thy living beauty there is aweQ
The sacredness of modesty enshrinesL
The ruby lip bright brow and beaming eyeH
I dare but worship what I must not loveD
