Now you have freely given me leave to loveA
What will you doeB
Shall I your mirth or passion moveC
When I begin to wooeD
Will you torment or scorn or love me tooE
-
Each petty beauty can disdain and IF
Spight of your hateG
Without your leave can see and dyeF
Dispence a nobler FateG
Tis easie to destroy you may createG
-
Then give me leave to love and love me tooE
Not with designeH
To rayse as Loves curst Rebels doeB
When puling Poets whineH
Fame to their beauty from their blubbr'd eynH
-
Grief is a puddle and reflects not clearI
Your beauties rayesJ
Joyes are pure streames your eyes appearI
Sullen in sadder layesJ
In cheerfull numbers they shine bright with prayseJ
-
Which shall not mention to express you fayrI
Wounds flames and dartsJ
Storms in your brow nets in your hairI
Suborning all your partsJ
Or to betray or torture captive heartsJ
-
I'le make your eyes like morning Suns appearI
As mild and fairI
Your brow as Crystal smooth and clearI
And your dishevell'd hayrI
Shall flow like a calm Region of the AyrI
-
Rich Nature's store which is the Poet's TreasureI
I'le spend to dressJ
Your beauties if your mine of PleasureI
In equall thankfulnessJ
You but unlock so we each other blessJ
