Lips And Eyes. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: AABBBBCDDDBBIN Celia's face a question did arise | A |
Which were more beautiful her lips or eyes | A |
We said the eyes send forth those pointed darts | B |
Which pierce the hardest adamantine hearts | B |
From us repli'd the lips proceed those blisses | B |
Which lovers reap by kind words and sweet kisses | B |
Then wept the eyes and from their springs did pour | C |
Of liquid oriental pearl a shower | D |
Whereat the lips moved with delight and pleasure | D |
Through a sweet smile unlock'd their pearly treasure | D |
And bad Love judge whether did add more grace | B |
Weeping or smiling pearls to Celia's face | B |
