Ingrateful Beauty Threatened Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDD EFEFGH IAIAJJ

Know Celia since thou art so proudA
'Twas I that gave thee thy renownB
Thou hadst in the forgotten crowdA
Of common beauties lived unknownC
Had not my verse extolled thy nameD
And with it imped the wings of FameD
-
That killing power is none of thineE
I gave it to thy voice and eyesF
Thy sweets thy graces all are mineE
Thou art my star shin'st in my skiesF
Then dart not from thy borrowed sphereG
Lightning on him that fixed thee thereH
-
Tempt me with such affrights no moreI
Lest what I made I uncreateA
Let fools thy mystic form adoreI
I know thee in thy mortal stateA
Wise poets that wrapped truth in talesJ
Knew her themselves through all her veilsJ
