Celia Beeding, To The Surgeon Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEDEFF GBGBHH

Fond man that canst believe her bloodA
Will from those purple channels flowB
Or that the pure untainted floodA
Can any foul distemper knowB
Or that thy weak steel can inciseC
The crystal case wherein it liesC
-
Know her quick blood proud of his seatD
Runs dancing through her azure veinsE
Whose harmony no cold nor heatD
Disturbs whose hue no tincture stainsE
And the hard rock wherein it dwellsF
The keenest darts of love repelsF
-
But thou repli'st behold she bleedsG
Fool thou 'rt deceiv'd and dost not knowB
The mystic knot whence this proceedsG
How lovers in each other growB
Thou struck'st her arm but 'twas my heartH
Shed all the blood felt all the smartH
