Of a pure heart that at her altar lies | E |
Vesta is not displeased if her chaste urn | F |
Do with repaired fuel ever burn | F |
But my saint frowns though to her honour'd name | G |
I consecrate a never dying flame | G |
Th' Assyrian king did none i' th' furnace throw | H |
But those that to his image did not bow | I |
With bended knees I daily worship her | J |
Yet she consumes her own idolater | J |
Of such a goddess no times leave record | K |
That burnt the temple where she was adored | K |
