Of Nelson and the North	A
Sing the glorious day's renown	B
When to battle fierce came forth	A
All the might of Denmark's crown	B
And her arms along the deep proudly shone	C
By each gun the lighted brand	D
In a bold determined hand	D
And the Prince of all the land	D
Led them on	E
	-
Like leviathans afloat	F
Lay their bulwarks on the brine	G
While the sign of battle flew	H
On the lofty British line	G
It was ten of April morn by the chime	I
As they drifted on their path	J
There was silence deep as death	K
And the boldest held his breath	K
For a time	I
	-
But the might of England flush'd	L
To anticipate the scene	M
And her van the fleeter rush'd	L
O'er the deadly space between	M
'Hearts of oak ' our captains cried when each gun	N
From its adamantine lips	O
Spread a death shade round the ships	O
Like the hurricane eclipse	O
Of the sun	N

Again again again	P
And the havoc did not slack	Q
Till a feeble cheer the Dane	R
To our cheering sent us back	Q
Their shots along the deep slowly boom	S
Then ceased and all is wail	T
As they strike the shatter'd sail	T
Or in conflagration pale	T
Light the gloom	S

Out spoke the victor then	P
As he hail'd them o'er the wave	U
'Ye are brothers ye are men	P
And we conquer but to save	U
So peace instead of death let us bring	V
But yield proud foe thy fleet	W
With the crews at England's feet	W
And make submission meet	W
To our King '	-

Now joy old England raise	X
For the tidings of thy might	Y
By the festal cities' blaze	X
Whilst the wine cup shines in light	Y
And yet amidst that joy and uproar	Z
Let us think of them that sleep	A2
Full many a fathom deep	A2
