To Hafiz Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: AABBBCDCEDE| THOUGH gifts like thine the fates gave not to me | A |
| One thing O Hafiz we both hold in fee | A |
| Nay it holds us for when the June wind blows | B |
| We both are slaves and lovers to the rose | B |
| In vain the pale Circassian lily shows | B |
| Her face at her green lattice and in vain | C |
| The violet beckons with unveil d face | D |
| The bosom s white the lip s light purple stain | C |
| These touch our liking yet no passion stir | E |
| But when the rose comes Hafiz in that place | D |
| Where she stands smiling we kneel down to her | E |
