To Hafiz Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBBCDCEDE

THOUGH gifts like thine the fates gave not to meA
One thing O Hafiz we both hold in feeA
Nay it holds us for when the June wind blowsB
We both are slaves and lovers to the roseB
In vain the pale Circassian lily showsB
Her face at her green lattice and in vainC
The violet beckons with unveil d faceD
The bosom s white the lip s light purple stainC
These touch our liking yet no passion stirE
But when the rose comes Hafiz in that placeD
Where she stands smiling we kneel down to herE
