No Songs In Winter Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABA BCD CEC EFEF

The sky is gray as gray may beA
There is no bird upon the boughB
There is no leaf on vine or treeA
-
In the Neponset marshes nowB
Willow stems rosy in the windC
Shiver with hidden sense of snowD
-
So too 't is winter in my mindC
No light winged fancy comes and staysE
A season churlish and unkindC
-
Slow creep the hours slow creep the daysE
The black ink crusts upon the penF
Just wait till bluebirds wrens and jaysE
And golden orioles come againF
