Before The Rain Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDDDDEFGF

E knew it would rain for all the mornA
A spirit on slender ropes of mistB
Was lowering its golden buckets downC
Into the vapory amethystB
Of marshes and swamps and dismal fensD
Scooping the dew that lay in the flowersD
Dipping the jewels out of the seaD
To sprinkle them over the land in showersD
We knew it would rain for the poplars showedE
The white of their leaves the amber grainF
Shrunk in the wind and the lightning nowG
Is tangled in tremulous skeins of rainF
