An Alpine Picture Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCADDCEFDEGD

Stand here and look and softly draw your breathA
Lest the dread avalanche come crashing downB
How many leagues away is yonder townB
Set flower wise in the valley Far beneathC
Out feet lies summer here a realm of deathA
Where never flower has blossomed nor bird flownD
The ancient water courses are all strownD
With drifts of snow fantastic wreath on wreathC
And peak on peak against the stainless blueE
The Alps like towering campanili standF
Wondrous with pinnacles of frozen rainD
Silvery crystal like the prism in hueE
O tell me love if this be SwitzerlandG
Or is it but the frost work on the paneD
